Acquainted with Grief

Nothing deep today. Just this: He came in flesh, dwelt among us, suffered, tempted, hungered, and felt. He was fully God and fully man.

This weekend I'm comforted by that.

He was fully flesh—so he was a man of sorrows, acquainted with grief, despised, rejected, wounded, and crushed. In all that, He was also fully God. Sovereign, loving, prince of peace, wonderful counselor, king of kings. One who knew all, saw all, was near to all.

And Who still is.

He is that in your life today, whatever your portion or praise.

He is that to the grieving families of these children and adults in Newtown, Connecticut today.
